An International Service
and Youth Project of the Defiance Rotary Club and District 6600
World Community Workshop is a three-day program of study for high school
students focusing on the history, geography, customs, economic and
political issues of a selected region of the world.
WCW
is open to sophomores, juniors, and seniors. Students should be in good
academic standing and have a genuine interest in learning about
different regions of the world. Students learn about the region of study
through lectures, small group discussions, and hands on activities. Fun
activities, such as dances, karaoke, and game nights are planned for
evening entertainment.
Students from all over the world attend the workshop. Participants are
housed on Defiance College's campus during the duration of the workshop.
Local Rotary Clubs provide your scholarship that covers the costs of
attending the workshop.
The
cost to attend is $225, which is covered by the local Rotary Clubs
who provide scholarships to qualified students.
The
2009 WCW takes place May 14 - 16. Registration begins at 12:00 P.M. on
